Empowering Latina Voices

Over the last 9 months, I have been hard at work launching a new project with my friend Esmeralda, Latinas Rising and our first project was 𝒞𝒶𝓁𝓁𝒶𝒹𝒾𝓉𝒶𝓈 RISING, an anthology with the stories of 32 Latina authors. Fast forward to the launch during Hispanic Heritage Month and having the anthology become a #1 international bestseller in the US, Canada, and Brazil in 59 categories!!!

We had our book signing just in time to wrap up Hispanic Heritage Month hosted by our friends at Cartel, amazing food from Havana’s Cuisine, and music by the talented DJ Tatiana Rose. WOW! Que fieston surrounded by family and friends that evening.

This past weekend was another dream come true! Surrounded by friends, family, and members of the community, I had the honor of celebrating 𝒞𝒶𝓁𝓁𝒶𝒹𝒾𝓉𝒶𝓈 RISING at the Missouri History Museum during Día de los Muertos—a vibrant, meaningful backdrop for the powerful stories within this anthology. Seeing this book on the museum’s shelves felt like a defining moment, one that underscores my purpose with 𝒞𝒶𝓁𝓁𝒶𝒹𝒾𝓉𝒶𝓈 RISING and Latinas Rising: to amplify the stories of Latina women, creating a space where our voices are heard, respected, and celebrated.

A Place for Our Stories

𝒞𝒶𝓁𝓁𝒶𝒹𝒾𝓉𝒶𝓈 RISING represents the effort to bring untold, unseen, and often silenced stories of Latina women to the forefront. Each chapter captures not only individual experiences but also the shared resilience, struggle, and joy that connect us. Having our book available at the Missouri History Museum is a major step in ensuring that these stories will be preserved, honored, and accessible to all. I am deeply grateful to the museum for recognizing the importance of diverse historical narratives and for creating a place where Latinas can see themselves reflected in history.

The Power of Community

This celebration wasn’t just about a book—it was about community. Through Latinas Rising, Esmerlada and I are focusing on something I have always sought to build - a space where Latinas are seen, supported, and uplifted in all their complexity and strength. At this event, from the book signing to the inspiring conversations that followed, I felt a strong sense of belonging and pride in our heritage. Community members joined us to listen, to learn, and to connect with stories that resonate deeply. For our authors, who poured their hearts into their chapters, this outpouring of support was moving and unforgettable.

Gracias

I am immensely grateful for everyone who has attended, shared, and supported us. To those who joined us in person and those cheering from afar, your support means everything. Special thanks go to our sponsors and partners for their partnership and for creating a welcoming space for this launch.

Looking Ahead: A Call for More Voices

As I celebrate so many things I am filled with gratitude and am reminded of the importance of creating more spaces for Latina voices. The success of 𝒞𝒶𝓁𝓁𝒶𝒹𝒾𝓉𝒶𝓈 RISING is just the beginning. I hope this anthology inspires others to share their stories and, in doing so, find a community of support and empowerment. Through Latinas Rising, we are committed to fostering an environment where Latinas can embrace their authentic selves, tell their stories, and uplift one another.

Let’s continue to rise together, celebrating heritage, community, and the unstoppable force of Latina voices.
