Empowering Latina Voices
The journey of Calladitas Rising, the debut project from Latinas Rising, has been nothing short of extraordinary. Over the past nine months, my friend Esmeralda and I poured our hearts into bringing this anthology to life, gathering the voices and stories of 32 Latina authors. Launched during Hispanic Heritage Month, Calladitas Rising quickly climbed to become a #1 international bestseller across 59 categories in the U.S., Canada, and Brazil—a milestone we could only have dreamed of.
We celebrated with an unforgettable book signing, hosted by Cartel, where friends, family, and community members gathered to enjoy Havana’s Cuisine and the lively sounds of DJ Tatiana Rose. Recently, Calladitas Rising reached another defining moment as it took its place on the shelves of the Missouri History Museum during Día de los Muertos. Surrounded by loved ones, I felt an overwhelming sense of purpose, knowing that this book creates space for Latina stories to be heard, respected, and celebrated.
This project is a testament to the power of Latina voices—united, rising, and ready to make an impact.
