Celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month with Gabriela Romero! ✨
Gabriela Romero arrived in St. Louis in 2002 as an exchange student. Her academic journey began at Webster University, thanks to an agreement between that institution and her alma mater, the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina.
During her exchange year, Gabriela applied to the PhD program in Hispanic Languages and Literatures at Washington University in St. Louis. She was awarded a full scholarship and stipend, allowing her to focus entirely on her studies. After completing her doctoral degree, Gabriela began her teaching career in higher education.
She first taught at Washington University and later at Lindenwood University, where she continues to share her passion for Hispanic languages and literatures with her students.
Gabriela’s story is a testament to dedication and academic success. Her journey from Mendoza to St. Louis and her impact in the educational field reflect the strength and determination of immigrants who enrich our communities.
